Most of our kids free time is taken up playing football and rugby and playing with their mates. But a few suggestions of things to do, there are several nice beaches in HK, Big wave Bay is the nicest easily accessible one, Shek O, with dinner at The Chinese and Thai restaurant near the beach, Deep Water bay, Clearwater Bay 2nd beach. Or take a Sampan from Pak Sha Wan to Trio beach, or a sampan from Sai Kung to Half Moon bay. All these beaches have toilets and snack kiosks. Cheung Chau is a nice day trip. Or go to Lamma, walk over the hills to the seafood restaurants, easily managable for kids I'm told. Walks in the country parks, a bbq on the beach. Several of the beaches mentioned above have bbq areas. Go up to Tai Po, visit the waterfront park, maybe from there go for a walk up to Brides Pool. The museum of Coastal defence is supposed to be good.

From Sai Kung, just go to the waterfront and the ladies will approach you, its $10 per person return to Half Moon Bay, they will give you a ticket, but you must come back on the same coloured sampan (they have coloured flags flying from them. The same for Trio beach, just go to the public pier at Pak Sha Wan (Hebe Haven). Have just had a great day out at Big Wave Bay, the waves were great for boogie boards.

There is a book "Hong Kong for Kids" by Cindy Miller Stephens, all good book stores should have it. Gave us some great ideas for our kids on weekends.
