A Good Veterinary

Hi, Does anyone know of a good vet for cats on HK side? I'm going to be getting a kitten and have no experience with vets etc. Any info is much appreciated. Thanks!

SPCA in Wanchai, my dog is now over 10 years old, they saved its life several time, without mentionning they are cheaper than all private vets in HK, they are offering kennel service when you travel. Note they have many cats waiting for a good home, including kittens.

We use Maggie at Nine Lives - they are a cat only vet so specialise in cats. Maggie is lovely

I would agree with NZLawyergirl.

Maggie is just fantastic with cats. Her clinic has a very good "feel" about it and it seams to make all her feline clients very relaxed too. Maggie does use some "Aromatherapy" sprays in her clinic, which help calm the cats quite a bit.

You get the best of both worlds with Maggie, because she used to be the Head Vet at the SPCA, she worked there for over 10 years before setting up her own clinic a few years ago.

The SPCA is also very good, but some things you will need to weigh up are that you have a chance of seeing a different Vet every time you go to SPCA. I think they have a system for you to book your fav Vet, but if that Vet is on other duties, you might have to wait for some days.

Also, because it is such a big organisation, you might have to wait far past your appointment time before you are seen, whereas a smaller clinic will of course, have fewer clients at any one time, so any over run of clinics will be less.

Adopting from the SPCA is a great way of saving some poor little kittens too. I have been a "Foster Parent" of kittens for SPCA for 8 years now, so I know how important it is to get the Cats and Dogs adopted out afterwards.

SPCA I would only recommend for animal adoption but not as a clinic.
