My little guy who is just turning one this month has quite an appetite on him. Aside from breky, lunch and dinner I give him a little snack mid morning and mid afternoon. He's one heck of an active guy and seems to enjoy his food. I don't mind him snacking. His weight has never been great and he's permanently on the go.
I am really struggling with what healthy snacks to give him. At the moment it seems to be a kiwi fruit or a teething biscuit. How boring!!! I have bought these little biscuit type things from baby shops but they are gross (and unhealthy). I also tried to give him some dried cherios but he just spits them out. I also gave him some raisins and he loves them but they come out whole in his poop!!!
Can you please share some healthy snacks that you give your kids as I am at a loss.

if he's not allergic to dairy, bits of cheese are nice.
the whole raisin thing - my daughter had that in her poop too! Somehow they get better at digesting it as they get older, so I don't worry about that as much.
Grapes peeled, cut and quartered. (easy to transport as well to boot!)
different melons cut into small pieces- rockmelon is very nutritious and the kids love the sweetness. I used to squeeze a bit of lime on mine for my daughter - she loved it.
bagel with some cream cheese on it.
If not allergic to peanuts or nuts, peanut butter on plain saltines is always nice.
yogurt - plain or mixed with some cereal. (cheerios sometimes goes down better this way.)

I give the fruits snacks in the morning and the biscuit/crakers/breads in the afternoon. For some reasons, I get the impression that when I give fruits in the afternoon, she gets over-actives, but maybe it is just me ;-D
Sadly, she never did like teething biscuits and cheese.

Here is a list of snacks I have tried out on my daughter.
Diced ripe avocado or banana
Diced ripe fruit like mango, peach, melon
Rice cakes
Cooked rice grains
Soft crackers
Well-cooked pasta (wheat free)
Grapes (peeled and quartered)
Steamed vegetable sticks with dips
Cheese shapes
Cucumber sticks.
Chunks of hard-boiled egg yolk
Crackers
A word about the Petit Miam tubs…they have a lot of sugar that your little one can do without. If using them, try mixing with plain unsweetened yogurt.

We have just discovered butties (sandwiches). Soft wholemeal, crustless bread cut into fingers with fillings of cheese or humous doubled up to make a butty. He loooovveeess them! They are so soft. He uses his little teeth to rip bits off. He also keeps offering me a bite. Sniff, my little guy can share ;)
