Student and dependent visa

The most accurate answer will be from the Immigration Dept itself, so I suggest you go and visit them. They're quite helpful, you know. It's their job anyways. Your time is your investment.

I personally believe that the dependent visa you have right now that is stamped in your passport will not be cancelled. Also, I would think that a student visa will be issued to you once you have explained your case to immigration.

Another option you may ask your father to look at is to renew his working visa here in HK if he's still employed by the same employer. Technically he's posted in a different country, but it may be possible to continue living in HK by coming "home" reguarly. Just an idea.
