Bad Credit Repair

I got myself into debt some about 4 years ago and as a result cant get a credit card or loan. Im financially stable now but have no idea how to repair my credit rating. Can anyone help with where to begin?

Try to find a bank that offers a "secured" credit card. That only means that you get a card but can only spend an amount not greater than the security which a deposit you made into that credit card account. It works like a debit card.

would you know of any that do this? I tried but cant find any. Heard that American Express did but got refused for this sort of card from them.

I haven't tried it myself, but you can try Citi.
