sorry for the dumb question but...if i have a shares certificate (tracker fund) how can i sell them? hsbc takes 10 days to set up an accoutn - would like to off load asap - any ideas how i can do this!

You can try Sun Hung Kai Investment. No need for a whopping deposit to open an account. You use the share certificates to open a cash account - you will also need some other paperwork but it can be done in your lunch break, if near one of their locations. It takes about a day for the certificates to be registered (or whatever it's called...). Then you can sell them when the price is right.
