Bassinets on Air New Zealand

Anyone have any experience of Air NZ? We are flying to the UK at Xmas with our 9 month old daughter. We have booked a bassinet.

The reason I ask is that Qantas allowed us to leave our daughter in the bassinet during turbulence (seatbelt sign on) on the flight to the UK in July which meant that we had a lot of uninterrupted sleep. Yet their official line is that babies need to sit on their parents laps when the seatbelt sign is on! The bassinet did have a harness over the top which stated that it was the baby's seatbelt.

Were we lucky (an old plane, slack/considerate staff) or have Qantas changed the rule recently?

i know it's hard on you as parents, but unless the bassinet has a harness that really holds in your baby, i would definately lift your baby out and put him on your lap. it's safer i believe. i know BA have car seats for infants now instead of bassinets.
