Anyone know where you can buy a smoke detector - the battery operated ones? Our management can install one for $1400 which is expensive! But I guess if there is a fire, they will get notified...Do you think I should make the landlord pay for this??

I found smoke detectors at a fire safety/workplace safety shop on Queens Road East. They have smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, etc.
It's past the Hopewell Centre, same side of the road but more towards Happy Valley racecourse.
Sorry I don't have the exact address on me... Let me try and dig out the receipt tonight and post the details on here.
From memory, the smoke detector was $300-$400.

I couldn't find my old receipt for the shop on Queens Road East - sorry turquoiseblue.
