Coffee AeroPress - Refillable Strainer Refills pads- WHERE ?

ORIGINAL POST

This is a new gadget for making coffee, probably American. Does anyone know where to get the refill strainer-pads ? Better yet, the metallic perforated disc in HK ? Otherwise that will become a redundant item in the kitchen.

Aeropress is available in Hong Kong dated back in 2010 or earlier while Coava DISK, or currently known as ABLE DISK, as early as the beginning of 2011.

For Aeropress agents, you can contact these Aeropress' distributors in Hong Kong

For retailer: you can try various indie coffees such as Rabbithole Concept shop in Central, hkcoffee.com in North Point, coco espresso both in Sheung Wan and opposite Pacific Place 3, for example. Actually almost all indie cafes around town that are serious about good coffee should be able to point you to the place you can get the aeropress and much more. Just ask.

For ABLE filter: hershey is the agent in Hong Kong at roughly the same price as in the US while supply lasts (HK$98 for both 008 and FINE). Ads as of last October said Hershey is ablebrewing official distributor in Hong Kong and they carry both silver and gold version

If not, you can always ask most indie cafes around town again. They should be able to help you out.

Just for info for those who are interested in Aeropress but haven't taken the plunge, Hazel & Hershey in SOHO has a bundle of Aeropress and ABLE DISK stainless steel filter for Aeropress, both 008 or FINE, at a really good price of HK$398 while supplies last.

FYI, Aeropress alone is quite close to HK$400 and the ABLE DISK itself around HK$100 so this is a good package to start off with Aeropress.

Just a note to state, the Aeropress is a great coffee maker, better than a French Press....

YMMV!
