Jumbo Chalk

Dear Xpats,

I am looking to buy "jumbo" white chalk. Specifically, I am looking for sticks of chalk which would be about 25mm in diameter and 110mm in length. Toys-R-Us in the States carries these jumbo sticks of chalk (but you do have to buy a range of colors...). I was also able to buy such jumbo chalk sticks in Tokyo when I lived there. I have checked toy stores, stationery shops, artists supply stores here in Hong Kong, all to no avail. Come on -- if you can't buy it in Hong Kong, it doesn't exist, right? If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be grateful!

I hope I am right, have you tried the childrens dept in Ikea? I feel I may have seen it there.

You might also contact some schools as a last resort. Teacher can be very resourseful.

Bumps2Babes in Central has both colour and white jumbo sidewalk chalk...

If you go in, walk to the right, and all the way in the far right corner there are some arts and crafts items - including two types of jumbo coloured chalk and one type of jumbo white chalk.

I asked the salesclerk and she said 'oh, sidewalk chalk' and told me where it was.

I bought some in ToysRUs in Ocean Terminal today!
It was at the back of the store near the Crayola paints. I have previously bought it in Ikea.
If I recall it was $19 for a big tub of the stuff!

I went to two ToysRUs and they didn't have it... (Central and TaiKooShing)... so maybe only the big one in Ocean Terminal carries it?
Ikea wins the price war though - great price, will have to do that when these run out.

I need some of these Jumbo Chalks, also, now, and have checked everywhere to no avail. All colours okay. Has anybody seen some of these recently?

call Spot Light in Kowloon Bay to see if they can help as they did have stock about a year and a bit ago... good luck
