Ironing

Does anyone know of a laundry in Central that will do ironing for me?

I am picky about my clothes washing detergent (enviro friendly and all that) so I'm happy to wash everything myself but I'd love a hand with all the ironing. Someone offering a pick up and drop off would be wonderful. I don't have a helper.

Most places I ask wont do it - they only WASH AND iron. I speak Cantonese so not a language misunderstanding.

Used to have someone who would pick up and drop off my ironing once a week when living in Australia. Would be great to find a HK equivalent.

Any tips people? Thanks for reading.

or hire a local lady to come in to do it for you... might be cheaper at $60/hour?

$50/hr.

Some charges only $30 if they happen to have a boss who will let them out for a few hours, like my neighbor's helper.

Note that if this is a "foreign domestic helper" part timing like that is illegal. That's why cara specified a "local" lady, meaning one with residency/citizenship.

Cara, when you say 'hire a local lady' how would you expect I find someone who offers this service? Certainly haven't heard of someone who does this by word of mouth and I don't speak Chinese. So do you have any suggestions of how I find this mysterious woman?

You speak Cantonese or you dont? Your first post mentions you do and the last mentions you dont.... Confused...
