why oh why couldn't i park at hopewell centre on the weekend?!

i went over to hopewell centre to do some grocery shopping at taste, and was not able to park in their carpark! this was late sat afternoon. of course the attendant was talking to me in chinese, and i couldn't understand him...(and he couldn't understand me...)...this was the entrance from queens road east - i know he was somehow directing me to the kennedy road carpark entrance, but i find it more difficult to park there with all the lifts u have to catch to go to the ground floor!
can someone explain? is the queens road entrance carpark at hopewell only available on the weekdays?

I was in the same situation just 2 days ago! However, the attendant spoke English and told me that they were no longer accepting private parking. I totally agree with you about that Kennedy rd entrance...it was much nicer but getting to the ground floor was like a maze. Good news, tho. I just happened to go there again to double check that it was a permanent policy, and it was. However, the carpark that is directly opposite was now accepting private parking. It would have saved me so much time and energy if that attendant would've just told me that I could now use the carpark right in front ...but this is HongKong and they wouldn't dare help another business if it didn't benefit them too, would they?

yes i used the carpark next door to that one - the one opposite...but it's still a hassle to do shopping at taste. u still have to catch the lift down, use the escalators etc to go all the way down. and there's no parking offers. so you might as well use the kennedy road hopewell centre carpark. agh annoying, i don't think i'll be going there anymore...
