Anybody know of any good clubs or associations?

Hi, me and my boyfriend have been living in HK for a month now and want to know if there are any good sports clubs we can join such as hiking and possibly any social clubs. We're both Brits and in our mid twenties.

Also, where is a really good place to take family for Christmas dinner. Looking for a really good chinese restaurant. Any ideas???

I don't know of any hiking clubs apart from those "we only go out in a typhoon" people. ;) However I am sure there are several such clubs. Heck, PM me and we'll go hiking. I start out from Repulse Bay most mornings.

Sports clubs/social clubs include the Football Club and the Cricket Club. My guess, though, is that the crowd there is a bit older than twenties.

I would note that of course Christmas is not a Chinese holiday so I don't know if "Christmas Dinner" will be any different from any other dinner in these places.

Personally, I would go for Peking Duck for Christmas Dinner. Try Peking Garden.

You will find a really good Chinese Restuarant at the Conrad Hotel behind Pacific Place. As axpatguy says, Christmas is not a celebration to the Chinese but the Conrad will be lovely.

For hiking you could try Saturday Hikers. A good friendly group of people.
