SZ China Visa info - helpful

2 friends from N America asked for visa info. Went on asiaxpat here and found a lot of info but quite dated. So, thought I would post the following :

There are a number of travel agencies, apart from the notorious China Travel Svs, that issues VISITOR visas to China (as long as they are not HK citizens). China Travel Svs is the most expensive, most crowded, and I found the staff being crude and rude.


Canadian Passport Holder, 1 time use only $380 (Sunrise $250). Takes 4 working days to process.

American Passport Holder, 1 time use only $1,180 (Sunrise $1,130). Takes 4 working days to process

Be sure to ask exactly what to bring eg ID photos, documents, exact cash etc.

Never had a problem with CTS- they have branches everywhere so maybe it depends which one you use. HOwever have decided to cut out the middleman and go to China Resources in Wanchai - seems if you go at lunchtime the line is quite short, so as soon as they reopen you can get in and out fast & same when you pick up. It worked very well & I finally got a one year multi, hurrah!
