need to junk/recycle a car

Our car was damaged during the recent typhoon and it isn't worth repairing. Does anyone know of a place that will take it and recycle its parts, whether for scrap metal or engine parts? It's a 1991 BMW, for what it's worth.

If that isn't an option, then any insight into towing companies and cost?

We scrapped our last car at the gov. compound in Fo Tan. (Shatin)Just drove the car there and handed it over to the guy on the gate, with all the details. While there another guy stood by the gate asking to buy it! (Ours was an insurace write off - and would have been waaaaaay too much hassle to 'sell' it to the guy. (+ we probably would have negated the insurance policy - which by the way took three years to sort out and they paid us a pittance. Sorry can't help re the parts.

Try asking at the garage which does your servicing - they will help you out, I'm sure. Good Luck.
