Living in Conduit Road

Hi Everyone,
We are going to move to Conduit Road - end of it.
One of the concerns is really the connection of Conduit road for everyday shopping - there is no P&N or Wellcome or a supposedly high-end supermarket in the neighborhood; we would need to walk to the escalator and go down to Robinson Road to reach the nearest shop (I think).
Anyone living in Conduit road with any recommendations of places to go? (of course we will consider buying from P&S or Wellcome online). We chose the place really for the quieter place and a bit of altitude from the traffic.

I lived in 3 places in Coduit many years ago. 1st was 33 Conduit, neqar the escalator & loved it. 2nd was up the end near the Uni & was too far to walk to escalator so really didn't like it. 3rd I lived down the other end (number 8) and loved it. Close to the escalator, but at the top of the hill coming up from Robinsn so the buses were noisy in low gear.
If you really want peace & quiet then should be OK. Can get a taxi down to Robinson for HK$18 and shop down there. Otherwise as you say just get all heavy items delivered through welcome online & do fruit/veg & meat shopping on way home.
There is a mini bus that goes from central to Conduit & that may be an easier connection for you. Am not sure where it starts in Central but if (as I suspect) starts near the bus interchange -Excvahnge Square) then could shop at City Super in IFC and then jump on the mini bus.

Thanks very much Dadda. I guess no chance that we will ever see a Wellcome or a Park and Shop in Conduit road, right? especially with the recent prices of apartments there....

I don't think there is enough flow to warrant a major supermarket moving in. Anyway the walk will be nice & at least you have no excuse not to exercise now :)
