used cars - imported from japan/uk issue?

Hi all,

Im looking to get a car, and I think Ive decided on a porsche cayenne.

For my price range, i can see on 28car.com that i am looking for about a 2008 model, however when i contact most of the owners it seems that they are mostly japanese or british imports.

Im not sure if the price is less because of it, the only issue i can think of is that if its imported maybe you cant trust the milage/accident history.

Im also wondering if this affects the resale possibilities/price.

Any words of wisdom?

Thanks

Prices will be less if it is an import, by approximately 30% and the same for resale. Usually cars coming from Japan are heavily clocked with no history. Some of the UK cars have history but higher mileages. UK cars may have also seen a few winters so may be suffering from rust underneath.

Ah thanks evildeeds!

So a Uk one isnt a disaster IF it has history and you can look underneath for no rust then?

Any advice where to find one then?

Thanks

Resale value ll be not the same as brand new car registerd in Hk. Imported used car ll be written on the car title once it imported from Uk or Japan.
