Help, please! I'm an American living here in HK over 25 years. In all that time Merrill Lynch has been my broker and bank in the US (Citibank here). Now they are closing ALL American accounts and I must find a bank/broker that I can transfer my account to. I'm desperate! Does anyone know where I can go? Thanks!

NO, Merrill Lynch is closing American brokerage accounts for Americans abroad, unless you have piles and piles of money. But Citibank HK will not take those accounts. It's looking like Charles Schwab is the best bet for others in my situation. At least it looks like this so far.
