May sound funny, but has anyone got an old whistling kettle they dont want? Its got to be the on-top-of-the-stove type.
Someone gave me a Villaroy and Bosch kettle...fancy make. To my disbelief, the handle isnt heatproof. You cant use it on a gas cooker. Only on an electric. So now the handle is all melted and of course, I threw away the old kettle because I didnt want to be a hoarder!

You can get a new one at the Meyer outlet, it's only a few hundred dollars. I have one with a solid metal handle and use it on the gas cooker.
