Contact the police - their crime prevention officers should have a list of "approved" suppliers of alarm systems etc.

Strangely enough, when a friendly policeman did a tour of my house to advise me about my (lack of) security arrangements after a few burglaries in the vicinity, I asked about suppliers and he told me he wasn't actually allowed to name any, muttering something about the ICAC...

Daddy Long Legs, one of next door's dogs got stabbed to death in a burglary and in a subsequent house invasion all their dogs were drugged with strong sedatives. Thankfully, they recovered, but of course the burglars helped themselves...
