It is sad when a woman go to a certain age if she can't find a bf. She can't be desperate otherwise most of the guys are not interested.

What are you talking about? Why can't a woman of a ''certain'' age find a boyfriend? Of course she can. There are lots of men of a ''certain'' age too and they want to find a friend/lover/partner as well. Change your mind set and start exploring. I will admit one thing though...for a woman at a ''certain'' age it is harder to find a man in Hong Kong...so maybe that's what you meant.

LMOPQ,
I happen to know a few single mothers your age who are dating excellent guys. You'd think that single mothers are at the bottom of the dating barrel, but if they can find someone who cares for them and doesn't mind the "excess baggage", there's gotta be a way for YOU, a kid-free woman to find someone to go home to.
Though a complete cliche, you really are as young as you feel. Also remember that the older you get, the wiser and more worldly you are which is actually a good thing...so my advice to you is to NOT focus on your age (which matters little to a guy anyway, if he's truly into you), but to focus on your "assets". What is it about yourself that you're proud of? What can you bring to the table as a girlfriend/wife? How can you improve your personality (assuming you want to)? Once you've all that figured out you'll feel better about yourself as a person and have more confidence. When someone's confident, it shows. Men LOVE a woman who knows what she's made of and is comfortable in her own skin...you need to have that in you before you even think about what kind of guys you'd like to date.
Good luck...

BarefootChrissy,
Whilst your advice is sound, kindly refrain from calling kids from single/divorced parents "excess baggage".
My kids mean the world to me and to hear of someone refer to them as "excess baggage" makes me very angry.

true kat8, I wouldn't see any kids as excess baggage, I just see it as nice family unit missing one thing thats all, I've dated single mothers in the past and whilst it was of course harder due to the children not initially accepting me etc, I totally understood their reasons for doing so.
Wouldn't put me off dating another one again far from it. The only thing I find offputting in any relationship is the 'emotional baggage' but that comes along in any relationship kids or no kids.

KAT8> It was never my intention to undermine children coming from broken homes. Just like every other parent out there, I'm sure you love your children very much and that they are not a burden.
I actually used quotation marks so that the "excess baggage" wouldn't come off the wrong way, but I guess it did anyway. Oh well.

LMOPQ is either a few sandwiches short of a picnic or a troll:-) Some of his/her comments are weird. As for excess baggage. I often felt that women I dated treated my full-time kids as excess baggage! Now my kids, bless their hearts, treat me as excess baggage. Ah such is life!

BarefootChrissy,
I think your comments are very rude and pretentious, as a single mum
I will never think of my kids a baggage. BTW that is pretty much an insult.
I really think that a good and positive attitude is very important
to attract the opposite sex, so cheer up be strong and stay positive
good luck

I always knew I was carrying excess baggage, somehow I thought it was more my "junk in the trunk"! lol.
LMOPQ - dont feel low, for crying out loud, no matter old or young...desperation reeks like a bad cologne...dont be desperate, no matter what age. haha

Kids clearly are not excess baggage to the parent...only to the partner who decides to take the already bio parent plus kids on board.
Even more baggage when its a woman taking on another womans kids plus their mother - 'the ex wife'.

Btw, I like kid but first of all, I have something I should do first. I could set my plan to 6 years later. 2007 + 6 years would be 2013. It's okay. I will try my best to learn from work. I will open myself again and meet more people. To understand what the real life exactly is.

why 6 years? You need to lay out a clearer Corrective Action Plan.

LMPOQ, when you said "certain age", which age were you talking about?
When I was 15, I used to think being 25 is terrilbe. Then at 25, felt 35 was too old! Now at the age of 35, I am feeling great but a bit worried about 45. Confident that when reaching the age of 45, still in wonderful status.
So, the conclusion is: no such a thing of reaching a certain age, you are no longer attractive! And, definitely no need to be desperate!

LMOPQ, I am only 34 (so what do I know?)and yes I love young women who are smooth and fit and can bounce quarters off their backsides but what really makes a women sexy is her mindset.
She has to be interesting and willing to go out and do fun stuff or try new things. Mystery and excitement go hand and hand and a confident woman who knows what she wants and will keep me on my toes or teach me new things is going to entice me whether shes 24 or 44, or more if youre a bit older guy than me LOL.
That said, take an honest look in the mirror and know you are gonna have stiff competition for young blond, blue eyed shoe designers in Asia LOL. If you need to hit the gym, hit it. I found out I had diabetes and bought myself a mountain bike and dropped all the 86 pounds my formerly (before my meds fixed it) underactive thyroid inflated me with and now I look like I did in College again and I had a great time losing it all. My bike set me free again.
You meet the good guys when your not looking to. Mybe in that gym, maybe out at some fun event. Its better to meet Mr or Ms right when you're out having fun for yourself anyway because then you know from the get go that you all have something in common to build from.
Women are sexiest when you dont look desparate and you are doing something fun that you are good at. It impresses us, not that you have to be great but that you are bold enough to get out and do it. Take up kayaking or mountain biking, sports that men like, F$%k it take up ping pong, who cares. You will have fun, get fitter, more confident in your self, forget about us and then we will notice you. Or else when you get back your confidence roll up on one of us and impress us with that confident attitude. Kick my butt in that bluffing dice game and get me drunk and then take me kayaking. You'd get my attention. If you cant be younger or hotter than the twenty something bar girls then be smarter and more interesting, its not that hard to pull that one off. Young nubile girls are a dime a dozen. Intelligent, confident, worldly women who can carry a real conversation are rare comodities indeed.
Good luck,
Sasquatch

LMOPQ, you can change the text below your posts to say you're in Hong Kong by hitting "control panel" above the menu.
You know every time Ive been to Hong Kong I do a little shopping and get harrassed about buying watches then hop a plane to mainland China or home the next day. I never get to stay at all. I bet theres a lot of interesting things to get involved with in such a cosmopoliton city. I think I'd like it there if I had a decent guide to show me around. Hint, Hint. Everytime Im there I find myself eyeing that harbour and wishing I had my kayak LOL. Beautiful.
I actually live about an hour outside of Seattle, down by Mt Rainier when Im not in the GuangZhou area. Stunning viwews here and im only an hour from snow boarding, 2 from kayaking with wild killer whales, mountain biking right outside my front door, but I still miss asia when Im home. LOL, I even like the scary food and learning Mandarin via submersion etc. You all are lucky to be able to stay.

Thanks for sharing. Hong King is a wonderful place. You can buy LV and Gucci. And on the same time, you could see the stunning Victoria Harbour. And it is worth to know more about Chinese Culture. It could be very interesting.
