Rheumatoid Arthritis

Hi, I had a blood test last week & it came back with RF 32, about 4 x the average apparently. Have been reading about Rheumatoid Arthritis on the internet & I am scared. Apparently 20~30% of people are unable to work within 3 years of diagnosis.

Anyone with knowledge or personal experience please share it here. I am only 40, and thought I was fit & healthy. Only symptoms I have at the moment is some pain in my fingers.

There are some great treatments available now(biologics)..I suggest you speak to a rheumy doc rather than scare yourself witless with reading things on the internet. Sorry I don't have a contact.

Thanks for all replies. I saw a specialist y'day and he is sending me in for about 8 different blood tests today, as well as x-rays of my joints. He said that Hepatitis can give same high RF results, so checking all possibilities.

Have my fingers crossed.
