dermatologist for psoriasis

Help! Need a good, thorough, English-speaking dermatologist to help me with my psoriasis. My skin has been getting worse and worse lately and I need to see a dermatologist here in HKG. Does anyone have recommendations?

other than western medicine, acupuncture and chinese medicine are also good in treating psoriasis. Take a look at some of the web sites in the service directories :

the ONLY thing that helped my husband was traditional chinese medicine which included multiple rounds of acupuncture and chinese herbs (which were really disgusting). he's tried every other cream/lotion etc and none worked as well as the TCM.

I am looking for the same thing. Psoriasis has gotten out of control in the last couple of months. Never had it this severe before. Looking for a dermatologist who actually knows about this disease. My last dermatologist here barely had a clue. Still want to go the western route. Anyone know any specialists here?

I'm a 30+ year chronic psoriasis case and have done the rounds of a vast number of derms here in HKG in my seven years here ..been hospitalised with it here, had steriods, light therapy, systemics..etc etc. Only one's I haven't done are chemo which I won't do at my age and biologics which they don't offer here on public healthcare and are too expensive otherwise (10k per shot).

You can either run a search on here to see my recommendation or you can PM me...if you let me know where you are upto on your treatments and what you have/haven't taken and will/won't do, it will help me point you in a direction that will hopefully work for you.

I'm currently not medicating because I'm ignoring it and I'm tired of it. But at least its stabilised at about 15% body coverage...usually around 30-40%. So trust me, I know what I'm talking about.

Try the dermatology and laser centre, ice house street 2109 9999, Dr Henry Chan, trained in the uk. I went there a few years ago and he diagnosed pustula psoriasis straight away even though i had been to a few dermatologists and they were all telling me it was athletes foot, not quite sure how they missed the pustules but apparently not too common here. I was given an injection type thing that he used to shoot at my foot from across the room, all very strange and 1000hkd a pop but they worked and it cleared up after after 3 of them and have never had it since.
