Getting my eyes tested In Shanghai...

HI,
Can anyone tell me of a place to get my eyes tested and then purchase glasses.
Every shop i have been in seem to sell frames with ready made glass, they ask me to pick a frame and then they give me the glases and see if the glass improves the vision, or am i just being so stupid and English abou this.

I am on the Puxi side of Shanghai, so any advice to recomendations would be great..

I recommend you the Ruijin Hospital, add.No.197 Ruijin Er Road, by Yong Jia Road. They have an ophthalmic clinic as the first ”Contact Lenses Special Clinic” with a series of function examining program. Experts will give instructions on the selection and maintenance of the lenses. No harm just go and check it out and see how's it working on 'Glasses'.
