Surprised by Bonesetter

Was playing basketball and rolled my ankle ! Blew Up like a blue and purple balloon. Left it for 2 days and the swelling didn't go down much more !

Friend took me to this Chinese Bonesetter in CENTRAL just behind Cosco Tower on Queen's Road Central around the corner from work ! Apparently, its been in operation since the 1930s.

Then they bandaged me up in this chinese medicine ! Surprisingly amazed that after a few visits the bruising and swelling went right down.

Apparently, chinese say if you don't treat the bruising quickly then you will be proned to continual injury there and feel the effects of arthritis and rheumatism as you age !

Thought the 150+ bucks was well worth spend !

I have this really bad tennis shoulder do you think it will work ! Tried nearly every type of sports medicine.

If so, could you leave details !

you waited 2 days & then went to the bonesetter. Then after a "few visits" the swelling amazingly went down.

I would assume that the 'few visits' were over a number of days. That would indicate 2 days, then see Bonesetter, then at least 2 or 3 more days. 5~6 days would seem about right.

I would think that the bruising & swelling would be considerably healed after that time anyway. Am I missing something or reading this incorrectly?

Swelling didn't coming down too much after the first two days and it was looking pretty scary. Tried it for 3 consecutive days. The bruising and swelling did go down quite a bit after the herbal bandages. I must say past experience with ice packs didn't reveal quite the same rate of effect.

Not being an alternative medicine guru and also a bit of a cynic, I don't think I would have tried if not on recommendation. But I suppose if the chinese have tried it and tested it for thousands of years that I was willing to give it a try.

My only request was that I didn't have to drink or eat anything weird !

swelling is the body healing itself -it's like a healing party-not such a good idea to try and make it go down early.
