Roseola - outbreak in HK?

Hi, our 18 month old son developed a fever on Saturday. By Sunday it was 40C+ so we took him upto the hospital. Doctor saw that he had a red throat and told us he had seen several babies that day with high fever & red throat. Told us to give him Tylenol & 30 minutes after, if fever not down follow up with Neurofen. The neurofen seems to have been working and now 4 days later his fever seems to be easing.

Besides the high fever & obvious lethargy & crankiness that comes with it he has been fine. When we get the fever down he is bouncing off the walls, finishing his meals, drinking lots etc. Today he seems to be developing a rash on his back, and spreading to his front.

Did a Google search & found the symptoms match Roseola. Wondering if other parents have young ones suffering at the moment, or any ideas on what else it could be.

It could be roseola, hives or allergies. You might get Dr. Wu in Prince's building to have a look. He's an allergist.

went to Prince's Building last Friday. Was confirmed as Roseola. He is fine now. Thank you
