doll-learn to dress
Posted by kilwinning (143 days ago)
hi. I'd like to buy my 18mth old a doll that she can dress and undress via velcro, zippers, buttons. I almost bought the Elmo Learn to Dress toy, but noticed that you can't take the clothes off the doll- just button/ unbutton, unzip part of the way, etc. The girl dolls I've seen at toys r us, etc. don't really let her do this either- more feeding with bottle, etc. Does anyone know of such a doll that can be totally dressed/ undressed and where to buy it? Thanks!

Not sure about HK - but my daughter adores her fur friend from built-a-bear workshop. Eventually, the nearest you can get probably is Japan.

I don't think I've seen any in HK apart from Barbie dolls and those aren't suitable for an 18 month old ;-)
With my daughter, I got her to practise on herself. Like get her to wear her own clothes. Like when I put on her t-shirt, I would say, "First, mummy will do this...... then this...... then this......" and after, I'm not sure when, she finally got the idea!

At what age do they usually start knowing how to put on their clothes?

My daughter is recently in LOVE with the japanese doll "Mell"... it's in SOGO, lots of clothes, accessories, crib, stroller... etc. It is very adorable and good size for little girls. My daughter has TONS of dolls, but this one is "sticking". And it's VERY popular right now in Japan.
