Thank's for the replies, i did contact Matilda & Watchdog but the waiting list is 6 to 9 months. Do you have the phn number for S.P.A.C.E? I tried to call the information, they have no listing. Also tried to call Bridget Nisbet but the number is not in use. I know that early intervention is extremly important for autistis children, any ideas what to do first? Can anybody recommend a good speech therapist?

My son 3 and half years old has been treated therapy by Autism Partnership in Central since last Sept. My son has been diagnosed with PDD-NOS last summer June in Boston Childern Medical Center. Within a year, My son has been almost recovered from the developmental delay gap and now we are working on his communication part ONLY.

As a mother, i have been study and research all the related area for the child developmental delay. I would love to share all the information included what and where you can get the right supports and therapy, Diet program....and the right books that you need for home therapy called (Floor time) which recommended by the specialists in Boston Child hospital.

So, don't hesitate to contact me. email me at rpalmer@netvigator.com

I am a speech and language therapist but I do not specialise in autism however I have some contacts so please send me a mail and I'll be able to put you in touch. It is vitally important that you find a therapist who has the right kind of experiences and who will be able to support you and your son through these early years. The correct early intervention is vital. There are a few too many rather suspect centres in HK. In additon, you might like to contact The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists in the UK or their equivalents in Australia (Australian Association of Speech and Language Pathologists) and the States (American Association of Speech and Hearing - ASHA)for information about finding their registered therapists who are currently working here in HK.

I was recently searching for a new speech therapist for my son (his current one is leaving HK). Ann Chan was recommended by several people (speech therapists and a psychologist), but wasn't the appropriate person for my son as Ann specializes with children with autism (my son has different issues).

Contact details:

Hi everybody,

I am an ABA therapist located in Toronto, Canada. I will be relocating to HK in April 2014. and I am interested in hearing all your stories. Ideally I would like to work with 1 or 2 expat families for intensive behavioural intervention. I've been doing private work in addition to being part of a government-based ABA program in toronto, and have had lots of experience in this field.

I've written individual programs, dealt with challenging behaviour, done parent training, taught social and language skills, and dabbled in emotional regulation with both low-high functioning clients up to 18 years. I've got good references from both supervisors as well as parents.

I'll be in HK early to mid april. Please email me if you are interested in meeting up and discussing services. You can also find me on LinkedIn (Mandy Cheung) as well as ABAcus Ontario (www.abacuslist.ca) I am Chinese, but I provide services only in English, so I'm looking to work with expat families.

Hope to meet some of you soon!!!

we suspect that our 4 y.o. boy may have some autism symptoms. We tried to go through goverment diagnosis facility but the waiting list is just impossible. Does anyone knows any private doctor who can provide a proper diagnosis for reasonable price (last week we were quoted $12 000 just for diagnosis!). Also, maybe anyone knows any good therapist that can provide reasonable service in English. Thanks

Contact The Bridge Academy www.bridgeacademy.com.hk. My daughter goes there and they have some wonderful therapists. I am sure they will be able to help you with a doc or specialist who can assess and diagnose your son as well. PM me if you would like some more information. Wishing you all the best.
