Lice become immune to treatments so basically a waste of time.
The best way is to wash hair and smother in conditioner and then comb through with a nit comb. It takes about 14 days for eggs to hatch so you need to keep doing this regulalrly. IF you miss 1 egg then the annoying process starts again.
Always check hair when your child returns from school.
Inform the school that you have this problem then classmates can be checked.
Check other family members.

Once you clear the problem up I suggest you use a solution of water, a small amount of hair conditioner and a few drops of teatree oil in a spray bottle. Lice don't like tea tree oil at all and tend to keep away, it's a good detangler as well.
Spray on before brushing hair in the morning.
