The easiest pram friendly walk is between Deep Water Bay and Repulse Bay - and also not too far. If you are feeling a bit adventurous the walk across Lamma is very nice, but a bit hilly. Otherwise try the walk from Parkview thru Tai Tam country park to Tai Tam, all downhill but you will need to rake a taxi/bus at the other end.

Around the peak is good - take a taxi up to the top, and do the circuit around - it's shady, and breezy, so best to take a blankie for the little one in colder weather. Afterwards, you can stop at Pacific coffee for a bit of refreshment - or splurge on some dessert at Peak Lookout.

From so ku wan to yung shue wan on lamma, it has some steep bits but no steps (great seafood as well)

If you are a serious walker you can extend the deepwater bay - repulse bay walk by going along beach road away from repulse bay towards Stanley and then up a short but reasonably steep road to South Bay road, turn right and there is a footpath all the way to Southbay Beach and there is a nice cafe on the top of the bathers changing shed. Some steep stairs down to it or a steep ramp at the far end. There is a gate on the top of the stairs of the cafe so you can let the kiddies out of the pram and keep them from going down the stairs onto the beach.

It's been a while since I've done the Lamma walk, but from memory there are stairs and steps along it - maybe not the most 'pram friendly' walk to do.

Summary:

The Peak

Deep Water Bay to Repulse Bay (optional extension to South Bay Beach)

Blacks Link (Wan Chai Gap to Parkview)

Tai Tam (Parkview to Tai Tam)

Bowen Road

Hong Kong Park

Out of these, the only one that has easy parking seems to be the Peak?

What other walks can you drive to, park and then walk?

Any others?

When you need to do a nappy change for a newborn on a walk - do you just do it in your pram? Or on a bench? Please let me know!

cri - the Black's Link walk there is free parking in Coombe Road by the playground.

Tai Tam - Park at the botton of the road in Tai Tam if it is a weekday otherwise up the hill in the Park n Shop / Parkview Parking area and do your shopping on the way back to get two hours free parking... watch out because I think it is $100 an hour if you don't.

Deepwater Bay there is octopus parking on the street, a small carpark directly opposite the beach or there is street parking with octopus or two pay per hour carparks, one on Repulse Bay beach and the other across the road in Wellcome carpark. If you want to start that walk at Southbay beach there is loads of octupus parking empty during the weeks and the cooler weather on weekends also. There is a small carpark opposite the start of Bowen Road on the left hand side as you are coming down magazine gap road ... not sure if it is full during the day or othewise there is octopus parking in the street behind the YWCA or parking under the YWCA and for the PNS that is there. You would have to walk uphill on cotton tree drive up past Estoril Court and up around the corner to start the walk though.

Nappy changing - small towel (the sort you get at markets and Wellcome) placed over the mat that comes in the changing bag and do it in the pram with the breaks on or on the ground.

I know this is an old post, but this is a question that has been bugging me and some friends since we had our babies over a year ago. As such we have put together a website with stroller friendly walks....have a look and see what you think.

www.strollinthekong.com

It's hopefully got some new walks that you haven't thought of before!
