Prem baby advice

My first baby was prem and we are thinking of having a second. Can anyone recommend a HK doctor who has had experience with high risk pregnancies?

For high risk pregnancies, I would go the public route as they have the best care. Select a public hospital that you will probably go to, then ask for a list of private doctors accredited with them. These doctors have a "key" that will allow the public system to access your files should there be an emergency.

Mine was a high risk pregnancy and that was what I did. I had my checkup at the Prince of Wales, had asked for a list of private doctors affiliated with them and chose a private doctor off their list who happened to be from the Union Hospital (a private hospital near them). This was 4 years ago, though.

If on HK island, you can try Lucy Lord. She is more connected than others to Queen Mary since she worked there years ago. I had seen her for the delivery of my first child. Second child became very high risk for pre-term birth, and so she help set me up with public system. Baby was delivered at 28+ weeks, and very, very well cared for by the public team. Even as a premie, the hospital allowed my husband to be present and was very supportive. Our tiny baby stayed at hospital for close to 2 months, but is now a totally healthy 9 year old. For high risk, you need to be prepared to go with the public system, since they have absolutely the best care for premies.

Simplythebest is this a reference to premies and breastfeeding at public hospital? Our son was unable to drink liquids until he was almost one month old; he was feed via tubes and IV. The hospital was still supportive of breastfeeding, and stored all the expressed breast milk until he was able to feed naturally on the breast.

yes i agree - queen mary has a brillant facility for prem babies and very supportive of breast milk being bought in each day (they encourage it)
