Irregular period after getting off the pill

My husband and I are trying for a baby and I got off the pill two months ago. My first period was two weeks late and I already had my hopes up. Now I'm really hoping we got pregnant this month but I'm not sure when to do the HPT as I'm not on a proper cycle yet(which I was while taking the pill)? Has anyone experienced the same 'problem'? Any advise is appreciated.

My cycle was all over the place when I came off the pill. What I did was do a HPT when I was "due", and then when it didn't come again, I did it again a week later, and then a week after that. If it still hasn't come after that I'd go to your doctor and ask for a blood test, as sometimes your hormone levels aren't high enough to show in urine, but will show in blood. Good luck!
