bad skin
Posted by WWcC (202 days ago)
I'm wondering if anyone has any helpful hints to keep skin eruptions at bay during pregnancy. My first 3 months my skin was fine but now its turning all red, blochy and acne bumps. Its really annoying and seems to be getting worse. I'm wondering if its something I'm eating or just hormones? Any remedies to keep it at bay at least or clear it up would be useful. Thanks.

Could be a bit of both and it's not at all unusual. The usual acne treatments (ask in the pharmacy) are typically helpful but the only real solution for some people is to have the child.

I knew where had the serives to teach pregnancy women to skincare and how to prevent the stretch mark and keep-fit after born. All the products is from USA and made by natural elements.

It's probably the hormones. I typically have acne-prone skin, and when I was pregnant, in the first month, my skin got worse. However, in the second trimester, it cleared up. And it turns out, I had a boy. I carried low and in the front, and didn't gain much weight. I have a feeling that if the next one is a girl, then it'll be a different story (I'll probably be really round and have lots of skin issues, like having prolonged PMS). Out of curiosity, are you having a girl?
For acne treatment, you could try Differin (available in a pharmacy, but I think you need a doctor's note for it), or anything with salicylic acid (Neutrogena has a mild skin scrub). Just keep hydrated as these can have a drying effect.

Thanks for this advice. bluetapestries, that's interesting. We've decided to keep our arrival as a surprise but eveyone has predicted its a boy as I too am carrying out front, have put on no weight and somehow feel its a boy or maybe just been brainwashed by others...haha!
Otherwise I will check out some of your suggested products.

Hi WWcC,
I am 17 weeks pregnant and have the same problem with my skin as do. I have always had the odd spot, usually based on my menstrual cycle. I now have angry, inflamed patches of acne along my jawline.
Nothing seems to stop it happening (I guess because you can't control the raging pregnancy hormones!) but I have started using some products from Kiehls. These have definitely helped clear up spots much faster than before, and the normal areas of my skin have also improved. (www.kiehls.com). The products are also not too expensive and a little goes a long way. Also the Sebamed Clear Skin toner (it has a blue cap) helps, I bought it at my local Taste.
Good luck.
