According to the Dr Oetker website, the instructions are: Sie wird mit 500 ml Milch und 25 g Zucker aufgekocht.
Basically this seems to be the same way to make up most custard powders. Dr O powder uses 500ml of milk and 25g of sugar (caster).
The basic method to make custard from a powder is:
Heat 375g of the milk. Stir occasionally until very hot.
Meanwhile, put the custard powder and sugar in a bowl and add the other 125 g of the milk. Stir until a smooth paste – you want to avoid lumps
Gradually pour in the hot milk, stirring constantly – again to avoid lumps.
Return the custard to the saucepan and put back on the heat. On a low to medium heat, stir the mixture till it thickens and boils. Put into whatever you will be using to serve it, or let it cool for other dishes.
