high end HIFI

Hey, who could tell me where to get in HK high quality amplifiers and other HIFI equipment? I am especially looking for british brands like NAD. The shop should preferably have a sound studio to test / listen to different devices.

NAD, Arcam, Marantz, Linn and others of similar ilk are really mid end in HK. These can be found in many stores in Sham Shui Po - around golden Computer Centre on Ap Liu Street.

A lot of these places will have the high end like Krell, Mark Levinson, etc as well.

Fortress on Queen's Road East has NAD, Cambridge and Marantz
Also, 'Universal Sound & Audio(?)' in the IFC2 Mall opposite City Super has a small selection

Both have listening areas

Fortress does not really have a listening area - certainly not to the extent that savusavu appears to have in mind (enclosed room with proper set-up, speaker distances & alignment, sound proofing, etc.). Not all Fortress outlets have a listening area and for the ones that do it is generally just a corner/niche of the main display area.
Other than SSP, there are also some more 'sophisticated' arrangements in various dedicated audio shops in Central, Wanchai/CWB, and Mongkok (search previous threads for places in Mongkok in particular). Harbour City in TST also has a couple of places.

#1 Duddell Street, Central - there are at least 5 floors with specialist audio distributors. All have private listening rooms for equip auditions, but best to call ahead and book a time.

Mainstream retailers - located in Mongkok (Yau Shing Building across from Bank Centre has at least 5 stores, 4/F Hollywood Plaza - corner of Shan Tung and Sai Yeung Choi (exit D Mongkok MTR)). Do a walk and you will see posters from stores advertising their wares. There is also a store in Langham Place (Digital Pavillion) that sells upscale stuff.

Sham Shui Po - Ap Liu Street.

Two stores in Times Sq (iTheatre and Radar).
