Reloading Windows Posted by jwm (533 days ago) I have a IBM Think Pad t-43 I pruchased 2 years ago in the US. As many of them come preloaded with the O/S, I do not have any Windows CD. I would like to reload the O/S and am told that it can be done without the CD, can someone advise me on how to do so? Oh, one thing, I do not have my restore disk here with me, it is in the US. Better get them mailed to you - you can NOT use "any old restore disks" from any other computer. (I am based in Hong Kong) Posted by Gary Summer (533 days ago) I've not used IBM Laptop, but I heard that when the os booting ,u can push the blue button named IBMVantage,then a menu appears and just follow the instructions ,but bachup all the important data first! Just Goolge IBMVantage to find more clues! Do an internet search (google or whatever) to see if you can find instructions/guidance. (I am based in Vietnam) Posted by jwm (533 days ago) I did some checking on the IBM Think Pad site and as it turns out, in the boot up mose I can press the blue think pad button and go right in to a full or partial recovery mode (of course after I have backed up the files I want to keep) (I am based in Hong Kong) Posted by zerocred (533 days ago) It's always good to have a mirror of your disk - just in case the internal disk gets damaged...
