Copyright in documents

I have to write an assignment and copyright needs to be at the bottom of every page. How do i do that? Do I go into Headers and Footers? Please be specific if you reply because I'm basically hopeless with computers so instructions need to be basic. Thanks!

I am assuming Microsoft Word 2000/2003. I'll have to go from memory since I have moved on to 2007.

View Menu->Header/Footer. Then click the little button that looks like a page with two strips of tape (top and bottom) to go to the footer. Write what you want in the footer (copyright blablabla) and close the Header/Footer dialog.

You can click on "view" then choose "header and footer", then you will see a small kinda toolbar on the screen and a dotted box at the top of your document. In the small toolbar that popped up, if you start from the right side(which is "close") the forth icon will show "switch between header and footer", one click on it will switch for you.

If I may try and complicate your life a little :p you can also try this:
Go to "format" then choose then when standing on "backround" a new box will open with lots of colours, at the bottom you will see "printed watermark"- click on it. Then click on "text watermark" then open the box called "text" and pick the most suitable wording. Don't forget to click on "apply" when done.

Hope it helped you. I used to be like you but many playing around with documents and a bit of guidance helped a lot.

BTW if you write "footer" in the little help search box in the top right of Word there is probably a nicely detailed step by step instruction.
