Annoying Spam Emails

ORIGINAL POST

For the last couple of weeks I am receiving about four spam emails daily about companies to invest in. I keep blocking the senders but they just keep coming. They seem to originate from the same source that keeps the first part of their email address but the last part changes with every email. Any ideas of how to get rid of them FOREVER!

Forever? - stop using e-mail. Cut down on them by using an e-mail program that allows you to set up filters and use them. Move to an ISP that has SPAM filtering of all incoming messages.

We use message labs - it virtually eliminates spam.

One other thing - never expose your email on a forum on a web site - scum use crawler programs to harvest emails and then they sell them...

That would be tantamount to killing the golden goose eh...plus it would be unethical and illegal... so in two words - no and never... the only person with access to that database is my brother.

I haven't had a problem for over 2 years and have managed (with filters) to have very little spam. The FOREVER part is in relation to these particular people that are generating new email addresses (therefore I am unable to block them via outlook express) everytime they send me an email. I use netvigator, have a firewall, and do not give out my netvigator address to websites/forums (I use a hotmail account).

There was a report last month or so that attributed the new wave of investment, viaggra/ciali$$$ and porn spam to a Russian internet Mafia.

Don't know if that kind of information will eventually help.

The worst for spam now has got to be Yahoo mail, with Hotmail coming in second. Gmail is still pretty good!

KSE4,

Might be a good idea to get your PC scanned for viruses or spyware. Automated spoofing like this of your domain (especially if it is a priv domain) usually means your computer has been infected with something and you can't see it. Thus someone is using your PC to spam everyone you know in your contacts lists...
