Sounds like you enjoy theme parks 'car lover'! You can get the Warner Brothers 3 park superpass for Movieworld, Seaworld and Wet&Wild Waterpark. Dreamworld is separate and has more of a 'rides' focus and also tigers, whereas the Warner Brothers parks each have their own theme which is pretty self explanitory. The Australia Zoo is on the Sunshine Coast near Caloundra which about 2 hours or so North from the Gold Coast. You can do a tour there and a bus will pick you up from your Gold coast hotel. There is a lot more worth seeing in the Gold Coast area than theme parks tho. visit www.goldcoasttourism.com.au/ which is the official Gold coast tourism website. Good luck with your plans. Enjoy! ps. Byron Bay is a great area, also South Stradbroke Island and Mount Tamborine...

Ah the Gold Coast,
If I had to miss one of the theme parks it would be movie world, found it quite boring. Dreamworld has lots of good rides and is worth going to. I agree with baker girl, Stradbroke Island is a good day trip as well.

I quite like Movieworld! They have some great coasters, if you're into those. The only one I haven't done is Seaworld. Depending on where you're staying, Australia zoo is further North than the others, but OK. Closer into Gold Coast is the Currumbin Sanctuary which is good too. Love Byron Bay. Love Surfers Paradise for shopping and eating. The coastal highway is lovely if you do decide to drive down to Byron...
