In Xian, Sofitel Renmin Square. There is an element of style over substance about this hotel (e.g. designer rooms, but with limited storage space), but this would be a very reliable option and in a relatively peaceful setting.

LouJones, I know that the current offer expires on 31 July. Am guessing that they will introduce a new one afer that, but I know that they normally have a black-out at Christmas/New Year.

We went to the Marriott as part of a group. We expected to hate it as we usually stay in very small hotels, but had a fantastic time! Totally recommend it if you have children.
