Honeymoon in China Posted by BJGHK (794 days ago) Hoping to go to Yunnan - Lijian/ Ringha way. maybe even Tibet. anyone know any good agents who can do that or good hotels (not banyan tree)? or any other honeymoon ideas in China? (I am based in Hong Kong) Find what you are after in our Hong Kong A-Z Directory  Posted by ldsllvn (793 days ago) hi, have not been to Yunnan, but there are no good hotels in Tibet I am afraid - well at least there were none 3 years ago, maybe there are now. Be prepared - hotels are soo bad there and food is seriously bad. But that is not what you are going to Tibet for - the place is amazing, takes your breath away, so just bear the hotels and food for a few days... Have fun!! (I am based in Hong Kong)
Posted by hkkm (793 days ago) It depends on what you mean by "good hotels". If you mean 5-star Western-style, maybe not, but that's not really what most people go to Tibet for. When I went last year we stayed in a "Tibetan-style" hotel that was lovely, perfectly comfortable and had everything we needed, the food was quite tasty, and the location was perfect. We ate reasonable food throughout our trip (even though some of it was fairly basic), but really, what do you expect in a place like Tibet? None of the hotels were "bad" and none of the food was "seriously bad"! (I am based in Hong Kong) Posted by BJGHK (793 days ago) thanks for your responses. Good as in can be there on honeymoon and enjoy it, not necessarily 5 * and certainly not big. Just romantic and of a decent standard. Maybe the food you find acceptable, I might not, etc. As for hotels, I was just giving an honest opinion and as I said (if you read my post properly) - that is not what you go to Tibet for.
