Hostels in Shanghai

Please help. 1. Rates, Names, address and phone numers of hostels in Shanghai. Are the public transport systems like buses and MTR / MRT as good as in Beijing? 3. Is October a good time to travel to Shanghai.

You can go to hostelz.com to check out on the rates and location, to pick the ones which are accessible by public transport.
The mrt is efficient, cheap and cover a wider area if compared to Beijing. No experience on the buses though.
For my visitors, they find helpful information from googling chinatravelguide or
live.shanghaidaily.com/transport/metro1.asp

Try http://www.elong.net - you can find decent hotels for under RMB200.
