Visa for China Help!!
Posted by TJMcQ (785 days ago)
Hi Everyone,
My brother is visiting Hong Kong from the U.S. and would like to travel to mainland China during his stay. He is planning to explore for several weeks. What is the quickest and best way for him to obtain his visa? He is arriving this thursday and would like to be on his way to mainland on Monday if possible. Any suggestions?

Hongkong tourism board should be able to help. Should not be a problem if he is a U.S. citizen. His airline from must have the details too. Best.

You can go any one of branches of China Travel Service (HK) Limited, it's the fastest and easiest to apply "China Visa", pls check http://www.ctshk.com/. Go there to take the original form and fill, attach the passport and photo, etc.

Certain passport holders can get their visa at the border - costs a bit more, but it is more convenient. I think this applies to US passport holders, BUT check before with another US passport holder as it would be mighty disappointing to get knocked back at the border.

no, am pretty sure US passport holders can not get it at the border anymore.

You used to be able to buy a China Travel Services package tour, maybe 2 nights at beginning and 2 nights at end, and you didn't have to have a visa, they put a piece of paper (Well maybe more formal than that) into your passport. Not sure if it works if you are NOT on a CTS tour .... But their packages are pretty good and cheap and take you to real china hotels...etc... not sure that a good thing or not... but hey..
Cheers

You can check in the arrival area in the Chep Lap Kok airport if there is a service that can provide China Visa. Maybe little bit expensive but you can check...I am not sure because while I was waiting for my daughter few days ago, suddenly I saw somewhere, China Visa.
China Travel Services can also provide package tour. To apply and get the visa quickly is more costly. If you can wait for 2 days, it is more cheaper. So, after arriving, better apply for China visa immediately to save few hundred.
