Anyone have ideas for a reasonably priced Christmas vacation in a 3-5 hour radius from Hong Kong?

I too am looking for some short break away from HK. All the 4/5 * star hotels seem to be so expensive. I need something suitable for young kids.

Can anyone give us ideas?
