Has anyone booked a flight to Costa Rica? Which agent did you use?

Book online. It will be cheaper & you'll able to pick the shorter routes. Transit & connection in LAX is better. I had travelled using United as I'm restricted to using a couple of airlines for business travels.
United and TACA flies from LAX/SFO after midnight and you'll arrive San Jose around 9am.
US Airways has morning flights and arrive San Jose in the evening.

around how much is a return flight to costa rica? am planning a trip to central america some time soon (fingers crossed) and would like to explore my options.

About HKD 10K using US Airways or Cathay to LAX and then by TACA to San Jose,CR. It cost more if flying by UA, but then it varies with the weekday/wkends and season.
Depends on your nationality, a visa may be required. It's a great place to visit.

Funchai....I need to fly into Liberia, Costa Rica......if you could suggest s site or any info how to book online, it would be greatly appreciated.

Liberia city can be reached by another airport (Daniel Oduber Quiros International airport) which you can connect from LAX but have less options.
It's a couple of hrs ride from San Jose city which is the capital.

This what I do for online booking. Others may share their tips.

1. Know your destination name/airport ( eg. Hong Kong(HKG), Los Angeles(LAX), Liberia (LIR)
2. Google Yahoo travel or Zuji.com etc to get some quotations for pricing for different airlines.

3. Select the appropriate pricing based on your needs.
Example: restricted is cheapest if travel plans are confirmed with no date changes etc
4. Identify the airlines which has the flights that:
- meet your travel dates
- shortest travel time
- cost effective
- allow you to arrive/depart destination at a reasonable hour
- sufficient time for next connection ( min 3-4 hrs for international flights)
4. Do online booking directly to the Airline's website (e-tickets) which is payable through credit cards & print out e-tickets. Look out for their special deals/promotions.
OR, you can use your selected flights information and book through a travel agent.

Important: Take note of departure time. Asian airlines usually fly before or after midnight at LAX, so you will need to match your Liberia flight arrival date and leaving LAX date.
