Hi Mils,

I am from Malaysia. Langkawi is a small island. When you get there, hire a car to drive around. You will have lots of fun exploring & admiring the rain forest all around you. The road is excellent and - very straight forward. You won't get lost! Lots of beautiful hotel but big bucks$$ The 4 seasons & Tanjung Rhu are prime couple desination with $$$ but lovely. The Sheraton is I think, too old now to stay in.

If you drink alcohol, drive to the city and find a liquer shop and load up on champagne for the quiet nights.

Langkawi is a muslim place. So, not a bar scene place unless in 5 star hotels.
