Though credit crises may mean trips have been cancelled or deferred for 2009. More likely to get the benefit of that closer to CNY, though - ie look around a few days beforehand. You might still get OK prices on flights with indirect routes ie using MAS, SIA, Thai. I've not used any of the package sellers before - they've always been sold out or the various additional costs meant it was cheaper to do our own thing. Cathay Holidays, PriceLine etc may be worth a look, or a local travel agent...they'll be desperate to see you. (I am based in Hong Kong)
