Check out the Zoo - it has plenty of variety in terms of animals, and has some wonderful colonial gardens. The Strand Hotel is a fab throwback to a bygone era, one of the best in Asia, Le Planteur & La Opera are huge colonial era villas sitting in large grounds serving exquisite cuisine.

Shwedegon Pagoda is the main site as a must see & is worth the trip to Rangoon alone
