Im thinking of going to sri lanka with my boyfriend.. can you suggest what part to stay on which has amazing beaches but also active things to do.. like the elephant riding etc

I hired a car and driver and circled the island about 10 years ago. From my recollection the interior was the best bar - Kandy, tea plantations, etc... sorry I dont remember specifics (too much Molson...).

The extreme southern tip of the island is the place to be for amazing beaches and there's nature reserve slightly in the interior just to the north where there are elephants and other wildlife. The whole island is amazing though.

go to the elephant orphanage in Pinwella. time it so you can see the elephants going to the water. You can do some elephant riding a few stops away from it.

Sri Lanka have few places , specialy Galle ( down South ) , Kandy , Nuweraeliya and places , for elephants Pinnawela is one big famous place ,
