Chinese Trains

Hi,
I am travelling to China at the end of the month to spend abouts three weeks traveling overland going between Beijing and HK. Whats the easiest way to book tickets? Our hostel will only book tickets from Beijing to the first stop. I am concerned because a lot of places say trains fill up days in advance.

Any suggestions of things to see or places to go are welcomed!

Not sure this is helpful as I am based in Hong Kong. The China Travel Service (CTS) is the big mainland travel provider here. I have booked trains HK-Beijing through them. They have an english website

Hi, highly suggest you ask some Chinese friends to help you, because the travel agency will definitely rip you off. Otherwise you just go the the train station to buy it yourself. The best option would be take T107 from Beijing West to Shenzhen, soft sleeper is 720 RMB, 452 RMB for hard sleeper, it takes about 24 hours.
I think you can buy the tickets 3 days in advance, soft sleeper normally won't be sold out that fast. And it is possible to buy from another city, just that you have to pay 5 RMB handling fee.
